TOURNAMENT DETAILS

General Information

The Rotary Club of Parry Sound has been servicing our community needs since 1936.

Through our many fundraising efforts, much needed financial support has been provided to hundreds of projects that our community and our Rotarians are very proud of. The list is exhaustive and impressive including multi-year financial support to the Fitness Trails development; our local Sailing Club; to equipment and palliative support at our Health Centre. There is no request too big or too small for our local Rotary Club to support.

We are proud to host the 2019 Rotary Strikes Against Cancer 3 Pitch tournament (formerly the RACH) in support of Cancer Care and our local Rotary Club’s Projects. This year Funds will be targeted towards the purchase of a major piece of equipment for our Health Centre, LEICA CV5930 Cover Slipper, that will provide better support to our laboratory teams as well as enhance our overall goal to keep Cancer Care local in our Health Centre.

I wish to thank Dr. Tom and Joanne Higgins and Lorie O’Neill for the confidence shown in our Rotary Club in endorsing our event in association of The RACH. As well as their amazing support and the RACH Committee in organizing this years event.

Please help us by registering a team, pledging a player or by simply attending and supporting the 2019 Rotary 3 pitch tournament.

Best Regards

David Brunton

As a safety concern, please make sure your pitchers are standing far enough away from the batter that they can safely get out of the way when a ball is hit.

The next game will start on the hour –please ensure that the game is finished and the field is available for the next game.  Please have your team at the field 10 minutes before game time.  All games start on the hour and all teams are asked to be at the field and ready to start on time.
  7. There will be no new inning started after 45 minutes.  The horn will blow at that time and will blow twice to signal the end of the game. If you are starting a new inning, (all play from previous inning is over) when the first horn sounds, you start the new inning. If an inning is not completed when the horn sounds for the second time, the score will revert to the previous inning.

  13. If the runner passes the commitment line between 3rdbase and home he or she must go home and must run behind the plate– if the runner touches home plate he or she is out.  The catcher to make an out, must be standing on the plate with the ball before the runner crosses the line– if the catcher tags the runner the runner is safe.
  14. A courtesy runner may be used (provided the batter has safely reached first base) a maximum of three times per game.  Only players listed on the line-up card are eligible to be a courtesy runner. The courtesy runner does not have to be the last out. When a courtesy runner is used, a male must run for a male; a female for a female.  Time must be called before the exchange takes place.
